Dear Dirty America

In reaction to the journalistic integrity prevalent in my “Ron Paul is the Antichrist?” piece, a reader writes:

Yeah, you sure did treat these people fairly. The reader can all but hear you outwardly scoffing at these people. And they have every right to be concerned. We’re living in the last days and your making fun that. Maybe you should read the left behind series and get a little insite into the antichrist and what it means if you don’t have the Savior. Just saying.

And my response:

Dear reader, God bless you for finding that article about Ron Paul being the Antichrist! As you might have guessed, journalistic integrity is my highest priority. So is journalistic objectivity (you didn’t mention that, but I feel like you were thinking it).

As for the Left Behind series, I agree the series offers insight. In fact, I think those books at their best are irritating fiction, and at their worst they serve as the stirring drumbeat by which domestic psychopaths march.
