We still have money to continue bombing Libya. We still have funds for launching constant predator drone attacks in Pakistan, Yemen, and Somali. We still have money for 48,000 troops in Iraq. We don’t have to worry about spending precious taxpayer dollars to continue the ongoing ‘troop surge’ in Afghanistan.
Your taxpayer dollars are being funneled into war and Wall Street, into bailing out banks and multinational corporations, but when it’s all said and done, there is nothing left for the programs that we actually need: fire fighters, police forces, education, health care, infrastructure, heating subsidies, social security, and on.
Not only is there nothing left, our Congressmen and women are telling us we are $14 trillion in the negative. How did that happen? Where did that money go? They gave our money away, and now they’re going to come after us to pay it back. Again.
Today, the House Republicans unleashed a plan. Here are the dear dirty details:
Setting a collision course with Democrats that could drag out for months, House Republicans on Thursday unveiled plans to cut federal money for job training, heating subsidies and grants to better-performing schools.
The draft measure for labor, health and education programs also seeks to block implementation of President Barack Obama’s signature health care law, cut off federal funds for National Public Radio and Planned Parenthood, and reduce eligibility for grants for low-income college students.
While Wall Street continues to enjoy record-setting quarterly profits, the House GOP wants to cut grants for low-income college students? For Planned Parenthood? For NPR?
And on top of it all, the dastards are finding a way to resurrect the recently cut House Page Program; so if nothing else tax-funded power sodomy can go on.
