What recession? The Dow Jones is breathing! It’s still alive. After a hectic Friday, which left Americans in a ‘cliffhanger’ situation over the weekend, plus an American credit downgrade by the S&P, and then another historic stock market plunge on Monday, America can finally relax. The Dow Jones ‘rallied’ a little today, so far, although the day is not yet over.
There is no reason Americans have to be uptight any longer, now that the Dow is rumbling. They can go back to peacefully watching their favorite TV programs while waiting for the economy to improve.
According to the Washington Post:
Wall Street recovered some ground and appeared to be holding on to its gains Tuesday, restoring a bit of hope for investors after another turbulent night for overseas markets and the steepest losses for U.S. indexes since 2008.The Dow Jones industrial average, which closed below 11,000 Monday, climbed about 2 percent in morning trading, and remained there after midday. The tech-heavy Nasdaq and Standard & Poor’s surged higher–2.68 percent and 3.61 percent, respectively.
