Kabul — An Afghanistan family injured in a wayward United States drone strike have just about run out of patience attempting to apply for much needed medical assistance through the Obamacare website, Healthcare.gov. While the site keeps crashing on them, as the family gathers round the local computer station in the library ten blocks away, they remain persistent despite the uphill battle they face in receiving what they call “top notch American healthcare service”.

The Rahimi family says their daughter suffered the worst in the September 12, 2011 drone strike and is still adjusting to life with no legs. “She’s doing a better job of crawling around on the floor and getting from room to room more quickly,” the Rahimi’s mother has said, but their daughter has not been fitted with prostheses, as the family does not have nearly enough money for the procedure.

Of all eight children, Azar Rahimi has it the worst, as she was cut down by sharp building debris flying through the air from the explosion, but the family’s father has suffered as well, with shrapnel in the left side of his body, and three of the eight children, who were outside playing when the drone’s Hellfire missile connected with the apartment complex next door, suffer from embedded fragments from the blast, as well as serious hearing loss.

While the White House has not offered comment on this news story, American skeptics are quick to point out that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) does not cover people outside of the United States, and it especially does not provide insurance and healthcare to victims of drone strikes.

“What would the cost be!” exclaimed one Health and Human Services aide, who wished to remain anonymous.

It is unknown how many families in Afghanistan are under the impression they may be eligible for American health coverage under Obamacare, or where the rumor started.
