Hollywood & Highland: I missed the riot!

But my buddy Marvin, the wheatgrass juicing fiend, did. “I threw the first bottle,” he tells me this morning. “I was drinking rice beer and when the theater didn’t let us in for the movie I got upset. I drank my rice beer, and by that time the crowd was pretty ugly. People were yelling and pushing each other and fighting. Everybody was drunk.”

“The police showed up,” he continues, “and everybody kind of cooled it for one second, so I lobbed my empty beer bottle at their police line and,” Marvin says, raising his hands in the air, “they didn’t like that! The bean bag guns started firing. The guy next to me got hit in the face and fell over. I just wished I had another beer bottle….”
Usually Marvin’s peaceful. But not when this happens, according to the LA Times:
Questions are already emerging about who is to blame for the near-riot on Hollywood Boulevard on Wednesday during the premiere of the “Electric Daisy Carnival Experience” film screening. The Los Angeles Police Department arrested two people on suspicion of felony vandalism in connection with damage to the windshields and roofs of three police cruisers. The screening for the movie, which documented one of the nation’s largest electronic dance parties, had been a private, invitation-only event promoted for weeks. But a popular deejay known as Kaskade may have encouraged hundreds of uninvited fans to converge on Hollywood when he tweeted about a block party, police and organizers said.
