Brexit: Political Confusion & Other Tales

Brexit is a word I didn’t like when I first heard it on television, and have come to loathe it the more it is used.

This is a word made up specially for the UK leaving the EU. It has no place and is an example of lazy language used by the media to save a few nanoseconds in news bulletins.

I really don’t like words made up for some political reason. We have plenty of words in many languages to describe politicians and politics.

Words like ‘sleazy’ and ‘untrustworthy’, are just a couple of good words to describe these parasites.

Nothing is much more sleazy than the righteous indignation shown by opposing political parties on the subject of the UK leaving the failed superstate, the EU.

As far as I can see, the Labour Party wants to see democracy in action and leave, as does the Conservative Party.

Yes, they agree with each other!

But not really. Listening to each party’s spokesperson on the EU, you would think that they were on totally opposing sides of the debate.

It appears the problem is about the terms of leaving and whether the UK should or shouldn’t pay several billions of pounds/euros for walking away from the EU and the privilege of retaining/not retaining certain EU laws. I think this is what it’s about, but I’m not sure anyone really knows how or what is exactly happening.

The Liberal Democrat party are fervently pro EU and really don’t have a voice in any of the decisions. So, they won’t be mentioned again unless I get very very bored.

There is some agreement with the EU and the UK on some points, but I can’t actually remember what they are, so until I do, it’s time to move on.

The main players in the UK are, David Davis and Liam Fox. A pair of ultra-Euro sceptics who were banished to the darkness of the back benches by David Cameron. They were regarded as too rabid for front line politics.

There was also the fact that both men had been candidates against Cameron when he became leader of the Conservative Party. Always sideline possible threats!

Now of course we have the kind, cuddly and often confused Theresa May in charge, so they’re now back in the fold.

Funny how things change!

Progress in the negotiations is slower than an arthritic sloth with haemorrhoids.

Which is giving unwarranted hope to the people who want to stay in the EU. They seem to imagine the result of the EU referendum will be reversed if they wait long enough. They are optimistic and possibly delusional.

There is not enough parliamentary opposition to the decision to make this pipe dream a reality.

The Labour Party,  under the optimistic but somewhat insane leadership of Jeremy Corbyn, have made it clear that they aren’t opposed in any way to the democratic decision of the British electorate. It’s just that they have different ideas for how this is done.

As the Labour Party changes spokespeople faster than most people change socks, I have no idea who is in charge of lying about Europe today!

The media are very confused and don’t know who they should be attacking. The BBC which is so pro-Europe, is especially confused. This is strange because they are supposed to be completely unbiased.

Normally they would be interviewing Conservative MPs,  aggressively suggesting they were traitors, who were more racist than the Klu Klux Klan.

Now the BBC has to interview Labour politicians who want Britain to leave the EU. They really don’t know what to say or ask. Life for the media is turned on its head.

The Labour Party MPs who would normally be pro-Europe, are being interviewed with suspicion by the left leaning media. This is quite hilarious to watch. It’s like a kitten which hasn’t seen a tortoise before. Confused and cautious.

The confusion isn’t confined to media. It is just as bad for the politicians. They find themselves agreeing with opposing MPs who they would normally cross the street to avoid.

I see a huge demonstration is being held in London to have the referendum result reversed. This is being conducted by people who apparently believe in democracy, but only if the result is in their favour.

This isn’t democracy. This is stupidly taken to the highest possible level by people who are supposed to be clever.

The public are just as in the dark about the outcome of the talks to leave. Who do they believe? Most probably just don’t care anymore.

I don’t believe any of these political creatures. The result of the talks will be spun in every direction by all sides of the argument as usual, so no one will be any the wiser.

Very little will change for most of us, but the puppet masters will continue to keep us frightened and uninformed.

Richer rich and poorer poor is the aim and it’s working. But we have to keep fighting to educate people about the world. It isn’t what you think it is. It’s so much worse!

Wake up everyone. Change is possible.
