Obama Is Romney: the Real Health Care Debate

Chris Hedges writes:

It is a law that forces American citizens to buy a deeply defective product from private insurance companies. It is a law that is the equivalent of the bank bailout bill—some $447 billion in subsidies for insurance interests alone—for the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. It is a law that is unconstitutional. And it is a law by which President Barack Obama, and his corporate backers, extinguished the possibilities of both the public option and Medicare for all Americans. There is no substantial difference between Obamacare and Romneycare. There is no substantial difference between Obama and Romney. They are abject servants of the corporate state. And if you vote for one you vote for the other.

I’m often stuck in rather “liberal” environments, and I would like that, in most cases, except today’s liberal isn’t liberal, or progressive, or thinking for the people. There is no popular people’s party. Instead, there are two parties that get almost one hundred percent of the attention, and both are parties of Big Capital.

Liberals mean well, but then again, so did the Manson girls when they thought they could chop up people to raise awareness about how humanity was obliterating the earth. And humanity was destroying the planet, they were right, but they would have had to murder a couple billion people to make a real change. Sometimes you’ve got to take a deep breath and ask questions first.

Being locked into small groups of liberal people means you’ll hear a lot of this, “Well, Obama got healthcare passed, and that’s something that nobody else could do.” But he didn’t get that kind of healthcare reform passed, with a public option and Medicare for all Americans. He let his filthy rich buddies from the insurance sector write the bill, and they wrote into the plan a blank check with their names on it, signed by you, the American taxpayer.

So, if you’re going to give the president credit, give it to him for smooth talking. Hand it to him for looking great on camera, and delivering a rousing speech. But then turn off the TV and speak out about how the president’s words have nothing to do with his actions.

If Obama wanted to be a people’s president, he could have been in 2009. Democrats had the majority, and Obama was sailing on a few million extra votes over McCain and his stooge goofball gum chewing sidekick Sarah Palin. Obama could have buried the Red party six feet deep within a week. But he didn’t, because that’s not what his backers wanted. The president was bought and sold by Wall Street, and top financial sector dollars, and that’s who he’s going to look out for. We have three years of proof. He’s not going to change that if he gets reelected.

As Hedges says, Obama is Romney, and a vote for one is a vote for the other. The Healthcare mandate is unconstitutional because it forces Americans to buy a product from a handful of companies who will gouge them, and possibly even leave them stacked in medical debt because of something in the fine print of the contract that says insurance doesn’t have to cover THAT sort of illness, or that sort of operation.

Start backing the truth seekers, and those who are speaking out against the One Party. Roseanne Barr has very peaceful solutions and has shown she understands the system very well. She’s running for president of the Green Party. She sincerely speaks of equality for all people. She speaks out against the wars and invasions, against the surveillance state, and she has no interest in protecting the top ruling class who take our tax dollars, ship our jobs overseas, and peddle us the filthy propaganda so we think it’s all really trendy and hip.

Ultimately, at this point, the most drastic step America can take is stepping away from the Democrat/Republican party, and finding what best suits them. It’s time we take our “fringe” parties and let them sit at the table of national discussion. We can’t afford another four years of Bush/Obama/Romney.

We’re steaming toward global neofeudalism, as Hedges says. And he’s right.
