Tapping into Dirty Resources

The US formally asked stuffy Britain to join them in releasing oil from the reserves in an effort to ease skyrocketing fuel prices. The Obama administration is worried about high gas prices undermining a slowly recovering economy, even though this so-called recovery is more nonexistent than slow, because the unemployment percentages are dropping, but it’s not because so many people are finding work, but instead are dropping out of the pool because they’ve given up on finding a job.

Britain accepted the plea from the US and is joining forces in releasing oil from the government controlled reserves.

Instead of releasing more oil saved for emergencies, our president might consider ending the heightening tensions with Iran and the Middle East. He might consider curbing speculators costing American consumers at the pump. We might end oil companies’ government subsidies, because they pay very little in taxes, and they make billions of dollars every year.

America might consider investing into greener energy, instead of letting its dirty oil companies quash innovation that would, in the future, free us from our enslavement to oil. We’ve got to stop drinking this stuff sooner than later. The sooner we allow new technologies to come into place, the sooner we can begin curtailing our dependence on crude oil.

But, there are tens of billions of dollars banking on the world burning oil and gasoline, and that’s how it will continue.
