a predator drone couldn’t be called in to drop a few Hellfire missiles into the mass of cops clubbing and stuffing protesters at Zuccotti Park into the ground. Universal justice. That might not be the kind of response Gandhi would have had, had he been there to see the tyrannical use of power used against innocent protesters, but goddamnit, if we’re going to have predator drones in the war on terror, why not stop terrorizing wherever it’s taking place?

Perhaps those new artificial intelligence drones that are already zipping across American skies will get a whiff of what’s happening in New York City and provide some air cover. Its AI brain would, you’d think, register the intolerance and brutality of armed folks over peaceful, unarmed folks, and that would be enough to initiate a fiery response.

What am I talking about? Predator drones aren’t for killer NYPD thugs. They’re for women, children, and the elderly in remote villages in Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, and Somalia.

This was just a meditation. On where the American people stand in relation to their government, by the rich, and for the rich.
